Waarom wil je solliciteren?

When Ron asked me during the interview process what type of student I want to be, I told him I want to be the student who’s involved—who takes the most out of this experience.

I’m applying because I care about making this MBA more than just a set of courses—we’re all investing a lot of time, energy, and money into this experience, and I believe we deserve a voice in how it unfolds.

Wat is het enige dat je wilt bereiken als studentenvoorzitter?

The one thing I want to achieve as student president is to create more spaces—both online and offline—where we connect beyond academics and help each other grow.

That means expanding our WhatsApp groups with topics like Geopolitics, Parenting, Travel, or Sports, so we share more than just deadlines. And it means setting up informal sessions where we support each other—whether it’s peer mentoring, sharing career switch stories, or simply learning new skills from one another.

Wat zou je willen veranderen/aanpakken/bereiken/verbeteren als studentenvoorzitter?

Right now, the role is quite fluid—so I’d focus on setting up simple ways to collect and follow up on feedback, keeping communication flowing between students and UMIO, and making sure good ideas (like events, sessions, or even small fixes) actually turn into action.

It’s not about changing everything—it’s about building on what’s there and making the role more impactful for everyone. Elaborating on the three campaign: Representation, Connection and Growth, below you can find an extensive description of my campaign slogan.

  1. Representation – A Real Voice to the Program Team

I want to make sure your ideas and suggestions are heard—whether it’s about the academic load, organization of the on-campus weeks, or how group work is managed. I’ll set up a simple feedback process—maybe even a quick monthly survey or anonymous form—and make sure those points are brought to UMIO and followed up.

Actions:

  • Monthly feedback collection (simple digital form or open coffee chat).
  • Clear communication back to students after meetings with UMIO (ā€œHere’s what was raised, here’s what’s being doneā€).
  • Bring diversity of voices to the table (international students, career switchers, etc.).

  1. Connection – Making This Journey More Than Just Academics

This MBA is intense, and we don’t get much time outside of class. I’d like to support more informal social spaces—things that help us connect as humans, not just classmates.

Actions:

  • Student events: continue current traditions: Cigars Wednesday (CW) and Thirsty Thursday (TT)
  • Extending the WhatsApp group with extra topics such as: Geopolitics, Parenting, Travel Community, Sports, etc.
  • If allowed, occasional external speakers or alumni chats for informal evenings.

  1. Growth – Supporting Your Goals Beyond the Curriculum

Each of us joined this program with a reason—some to change jobs, some to grow businesses, some to challenge ourselves. I’d love to co-create with UMIO & Alumni Association small initiatives that support these personal goals.

Actions:

  • Peer mentoring groups or ā€˜skill-sharing sessions’ between us (e.g., finance for non-finance, career switch stories, creating a global/regional Sales Strategy, etc).
  • Collaborate with UMIO/Alumni Association to bring in tools or micro-sessions (e.g., LinkedIn strategy, negotiation roleplay, wellness breakouts).

Kunt u ons vertellen waarom mensen op u zouden moeten stemmen?

I’ve led similar initiatives in the past—organising teams, listening, and making things happen. I believe I can help make this experience a little more connected, a little more fun, and a lot more meaningful.
