Fast Facts

Why did you decide to pursue an MBA?

In my role at my company, I’m working on commercial and strategic topics, especially around renewable energy and sustainability, and I wanted to better understand the bigger picture behind the decisions.
Also, it’s about becoming more structured in how I think not just reacting to situations, but understanding strategy, finance, and long-term impact. At the same time, it’s also a personal challenge. I like putting myself in situations where I keep learning and improving.

Why did you choose for MaastrichtMBA?

Because of its practical approach and the link between theory and real business cases. Also, being based in Maastricht made it a natural choice for me, and the international environment and diverse group of participants were important factors.

What made you choose your specific MaastrichtMBA track?

I chose the Sustainable Innovation track because it directly connects to what I see in my industry. The chemical and energy sectors are going through major changes, especially around sustainability and regulation. I wanted to better understand how companies can adapt their business models to stay competitive while moving toward more sustainable solutions.

Which skills do you want to refine during the programme?

I want to become stronger in structuring complex problems and translating them into clear business decisions. In addition, I’m focusing on improving my strategic thinking, financial understanding, and communication, especially explaining complex topics in a simple and convincing way.

How do you think you will benefit from doing this MBA?

I think the main benefit is that I will be able to contribute more effectively to strategic discussions at work. I can better understand the reasoning behind decisions and challenge them where needed. You also learn by looking at problems and solutions from different people’s perspectives within the group.

What is the most enjoyable part of the MaastrichtMBA programme so far?

The most enjoyable part is the interaction with the group. Everyone comes from a different background and industry, which makes discussions very valuable. You don’t just learn from the professors, but also a lot from each other.

What advice do you have for anyone considering an executive MBA at MaastrichtMBA?

Be clear on why you’re doing it, because it requires time and commitment next to work. Moreover, enjoy the process and build connections. You’ll be in a room full of experienced and intelligent people, so make the most of it and learn from each other.
