Here at the MaastrichtMBA, we love our alumni and enjoy staying in touch! We recently caught up with class of 2020 alumnus Daniel Weber and reminisced over his experience at MaastrichtMBA and his current life. Read more to see what she is doing with all of that potential!
I pursued an Executive MBA because I deeply believe in personal growth and lifelong learning. After completing my bachelor’s degree, I always had the ambition to follow up with a master’s degree. I wanted a programme that would not only expand my horizon but also enhance my practical and strategic thinking. For me, MaastrichtMBA was a chance to grow as a leader and as a human being.
Several reasons led me to choose MaastrichtMBA. First, the programmes reputation and Triple Crown accreditation signaled academic excellence and international credibility. Second, the curriculum offered a choice between two thematic tracks. I chose the Digital Business track, which provided tremendous insights into emerging technologies and business models. Third, the structure of the programme was ideal: one in-person module every three months made it possible to integrate this Executive MBA pogramme into my demanding professional life. It was a smart, flexible format that worked.
The impact was profound. First and foremost, I experienced personal growth and I became more self-aware and deeply grounded in my values. I also gained cutting-edge insights into leadership, strategy, and technology, and developed a more global, interdisciplinary perspective. And perhaps most importantly, I built a strong network of like-minded professionals from diverse industries. We’re still connected today, and that ongoing exchange continues to enrich both my personal and professional life.
Do it. Just go for it. There’s never a perfect time, so stop waiting for one. Yes, it will be challenging but it’s also incredibly rewarding. And when it’s over, you’ll likely wish it had lasted a little longer. It’s truly a transformative journey.
I would reflect on four key aspects:
If you’re an employer with someone eager to pursue an MBA: congratulations. That person likely has a growth mindset and is committed to learning. Through the programme, they’ll bring back fresh perspectives, evidence-based insights, and the confidence to challenge the status quo in a constructive way. They become enablers of positive change. Also, the networks they build can be valuable, opening recruitment opportunities and strengthening your organisation’s visibility in competitive markets.
Two things really stood out.
I genuinely enjoyed the coaching and the International Week abroad. Changing scenery, meeting inspiring professionals, and gaining global business insights in a new cultural context. But honestly, every single residency in Maastricht was a highlight. Great conversations, shared ambition, laughter, and yes: occasionally one too many beers. It was the perfect mix of challenge, connection, and fun.
