Maastricht University makes its debut in Financial Times Executive MBA Ranking 2026

Maastricht University’s School of Business and Economics (SBE) is proud to announce that its Executive MBA programme (MaastrichtMBA) has made the Financial Times Executive MBA Ranking 2026, earning a place among the world’s leading Executive MBA programmes. This marks an important milestone for the programme, with particularly strong results in internationalisation and a high overall satisfaction score from alumni. The Financial Times Executive MBA Ranking is an internationally recognised benchmark for Executive MBA programmes worldwide. It evaluates programmes across a range of criteria, including career progression, international diversity, research and alumni experiences.

Strong international profile and academic foundation

One of the programme’s key strengths highlighted in the ranking is its international character, reflected in several of the performance indicators. These results highlight the international environment in which our Executive MBA operates, bringing together diverse perspectives, experiences and expertise.

With 62% international students and 55% international faculty, the programme offers participants the opportunity to learn alongside professionals and academics from different backgrounds. This international perspective is an important element of the Executive MBA learning experience at Maastricht University, encouraging participants to approach complex business challenges from multiple viewpoints.

The high proportion of faculty holding doctorates (96%) also reflects the programme’s strong academic foundation and connection to research-based education.

“This ranking reflects what we want our Executive MBA to achieve: helping experienced professionals broaden their horizons, grow as leaders and make a meaningful difference in their organisations and society. Bringing together people with different backgrounds and experiences is key to creating a learning environment that challenges assumptions and opens up new perspectives.”
Ron Jacobs, Executive MBA Director

Alumni satisfaction: 9 out of 10

Another particularly encouraging result comes directly from the Executive MBA alumni, who awarded the programme an overall satisfaction score of 9.00 out of 10. This places the Executive MBA 59th worldwide on the overall satisfaction indicator, reflecting a highly positive assessment from graduates of their MBA experience.

For SBE, this positive feedback is particularly meaningful. Alumni satisfaction is a key priority for the School, and these results are an important reflection of the programme’s quality and the impact it has on its graduates.

An important milestone for SBE’s Executive MBA

The Executive MBA’s first inclusion in the Financial Times Executive MBA Ranking represents an important step in the programme’s continued development. The achievement is also a testament to the dedication of our Executive MBA staff, faculty, students and alumni, who together contribute to the programme’s success.

With this milestone, SBE’s Executive MBA looks forward to continuing to deliver high-quality executive education that supports professionals in their development and empowers them to make an impact in their organisations and beyond.
