Everything you need to submit your application

In order to complete your application file, we want to guide you through the steps of gathering all related documents for sending in your application file to our MBA Admission Committee.

Below you find more information on each of the documents required to complete your application.

Applying for our MaastrichtMBA programme starts by filling out the official digital MBA application form. This form will ask you to provide general information about you as a potential student of our MBA programme. The application form will establish the foundation of your admission profile.

The motivation letter provides you with the opportunity to present unique information about yourself to the MBA Admission Committee. The letter should answer the following questions:

  • Why do you opt for MaastrichtMBA of Maastricht University?
  • What do you consider the added value of this MBA for you?
  • What are your ultimate career goals and how can this programme contribute to reaching those goals?
  • What value will you as a participant add to the programme and its current students?

What other information would you like to add to distinguish yourself as a candidate for the MaastrichtMBA programme?

The curriculum vitae contains a description of your current job and your past work experience. It should include the dates of employment and company name, job title and responsibilities, management experience, budget responsibility and achievements.

Certified copies of your degrees and transcripts can be obtained at the student affairs office of your university or other legal authorities such as notaries and municipality offices. Certified copies contain the text ‘certified copy from original’. International candidates whose academic records are in a language other than English, French, German or Dutch must submit both the originals as well as certified translations.

We request that you provide us with two references from persons who are able to assess your intellectual ability, maturity, motivation, leadership potential and suitability for admission to MaastrichtMBA. The references could be from your employer, the person you report to, or a former employer. You can forward the online reference form to your referees that they should fill out.

Candidates for MaastrichtMBA who are required to take an additional Admission Test, have the option to choose for either the Graduate Management Admission Test (GMAT) Exam, Executive Assessment (EA) or Graduate Record Examinitions (GRE). Candidates should make sure that the official score report is sent directly to our business school.

For the MaastrichtMBA programme, proficiency in speaking, reading and writing English is essential since the entire programme is conducted in the English language. Applicants whose native language is not English and who have not graduated with a degree from an English speaking university could be required to take the Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL) or the International English Language Test (IELTS).

Please include a digital copy of your passport or identity card and a digital passport-size picture of yourself. These documents are solely required to complete the formal registration process at Maastricht University. Following on the submission of these documents, you will receive a student ID card at the start of the MBA programme, which proofs you are an officially registered student at our university.

The fee for applying to the MaastrichtMBA programme amounts to € 200 and covers the handling costs of your application dossier. Please note that we only process your application when the application fee is paid and that the fee is unrelated to the final decision by the MBA Admission Committee.
