She works as Strategic Planner Europe at Emerson Automation Solutions, a leader in helping process and discrete manufacturers automate and optimise production processes through our best-in-class technologies and industry expertise. Ahlem joined our On-Campus track in February 2022.

WHY DID YOU DECIDE TO PURSUE AN MBA?
There are many reasons why I pursued an MBA. First and foremost, I wanted to gain a better understanding of business so that I could be more successful in my career. Secondly, I wanted to network with other business professionals and learn from their experiences. And lastly, I wanted to improve my skills in areas such as finance, marketing, and strategy.
WHICH SKILLS DO YOU WANT TO REFINE DURING THE ON-CAMPUS TRACK?
With the On-campus track, I want to refine my ability to think strategically, lead teams, and make sound decisions. These skills are essential for success in business, and I believe that an MBA will give me the chance to refine them further. In addition, I want to develop my research and analytical skills so that I can better understand complex business problems and opportunities.
WHY DID YOU CHOOSE FOR THE MAASTRICHTMBA PROGRAMME?
The MBA programme at Maastricht University was the perfect fit for me because it offered a comprehensive curriculum that covered all of the topics I was interested in. Additionally, the programme had a strong focus on real-world application, which was important to me. And finally, the school had a great reputation and was well-respected in the business community.
AND WHY DID YOU CHOOSE FOR THE DIGITAL BUSINESS ELECTIVE?
As the world becomes increasingly digital, I do believe that it’s more important than ever for businesses to undergo digital transformation. This process allows businesses to stay competitive and relevant in today’s market. Digital Business can help businesses improve their operations, better understand their customers, and create new revenue streams. Additionally, it can help businesses become more agile and adapt to change more quickly. By making the switch to digital, businesses can ensure that they are future-proof and prepared for whatever comes next. I chose the Digital Business elective to extend my understanding and be able to serve company transformation.
HOW DO YOU THINK YOU WILL BENEFIT FROM THIS ON-CAMPUS EXECUTIVE MBA?
I think I will benefit from this On-Campus MBA both professionally and personally. I can already apply what I am learning in my day to day work. Additionally, I can discuss with my classmates about the challenges that I am facing and share experiences. I will definitely shift my perspective on different topics and develop a new version of me!
WHAT HAS BEEN THE MOST ENJOYABLE PART OF THE COURSE SO FAR?
I love meeting new classmates at every new module. The mix of casework, lectures and sessions with entrepreneurs was amasing and made the course really enjoyable.
AND HOW DO YOU EXPERIENCE THE MAASTRICHTMBA PROGRAMME SO FAR WITH ALL THE CURRENT CRISES WE ARE FACING?
I started my first module in February 2022 and fortunately it was possible to attend the course in person. All had been organised to be able to study in a safe environment.
ANY TIPS FOR SOMEONE THINKING ABOUT APPLYING FOR MAASTRICHTMBA?
Personally, starting an MBA was always one of my targets but I had some doubts about the timing to start and the organisation with my life and work. So, I just talked with several people and got in touch with the MaastrichMBA office to ask all the questions. I would say don’t overthink it. Just go for it and enjoy the journey! It’s a life experience that for sure will need effort and hard work but I strongly believe that it’s worth the effort!
