Why did you decide to pursue an MBA?

When I decided to change jobs and take up the CEO position at a biotech startup, I felt it would be good to gain more knowledge on business-related aspects such as strategic management, accounting and finance, HR.

Why did you decide to pursue an executive MBA at the MaastrichtMBA?

During my search for an MBA, I compared a few different options and quickly realised that the executive Online MBA was a unique combination of online teaching, physical educational weeks and a Leadership Trajectory, all with a good accreditation and good value for money.

How have you benefitted from your MBA degree?

I have gained lots of new knowledge that is directly applicable to my work, and this has supported me in swiftly getting more comfortable in my position. Also the Leadership Trajectory, the online courses and face-to-face elective weeks related to personal development have provided me with new insights and with tools to approach situations in a different manner.

What advice do you have for anyone considering an Executive MBA at MaastrichtMBA?

I would recommend taking the step, it is time-consuming and maybe overwhelming from time-to-time, but it is very enriching and worth to invest in yourself.

What should applicants consider when they decide to do an MBA?

They should consider the time investment and find a clear structure that makes such studies feasible next to their professional and personal activities.

How do employers benefit from employees with an MBA degree?

Based on my own experience, I guess that such employees have a wider view on business and are better at connecting the dots within an organisation and drive teams forward from different perspectives.

What stands out from your MaastrichtMBA experience?

I have enjoyed the structure in which the programme was provided, the wide variety of the modules, the interaction with fellow students from various fields, the elective weeks with deeper connections and the Leadership Trajectory for moments of self-reflection and growth.

What has been the most enjoyable part of the MaastrichtMBA programme?

As mentioned above, I enjoyed several aspects of the programme and particularly the face-to-face elective weeks are a very nice addition to the online learning format.
