Entrepreneurship is a powerful driver of sustainable development, enabling organisations to address complex social, environmental, and economic challenges through innovation. This module explores the principles of entrepreneurship, social entrepreneurship, and sustainable innovation, equipping participants with the knowledge and tools to launch new ventures and transform existing organisations to generate long-term value.
Participants examine entrepreneurial practice across multiple perspectives (including startups, family businesses, SMEs, multinational organisations, and social enterprises). The module explores how innovative business models, corporate responsibility, and stakeholder engagement contribute to sustainable business development and sustainable value creation. Particular attention is given to responsible supply chains, co-creation, and the role of social entrepreneurs in addressing global challenges such as modern slavery, inequality, and resource scarcity. Through effectual thinking and systems-based approaches, participants learn how innovation can deliver meaningful social impact while creating resilient and competitive organisations.
