Fast Facts

Why did you decide to pursue an MBA?

With a background in Medical Biology, I began my career in the pharmaceutical industry in science-oriented roles. Over time, I transitioned to more commercial leadership positions, gaining valuable on-the-job experience. Now, I am eager to expand my knowledge in general business administration to understand the broader business landscape and effectively lead teams in achieving organisational goals.

Why did you choose for MaastrichtMBA?

I chose MaastrichtMBA because it is affiliated with a prestigious Dutch university and is renowned for its high ranking as a sustainable programme. The flexibility in learning formats and the clearly defined courses also played a significant role in my decision.

What made you choose your specific MaastrichtMBA track?

Being in the Online MBA track provides the flexibility needed with ten online courses and three on-site elective weeks. This format allows for a balance between work, study, and personal life, including family, friends, and hobbies. Additionally, the focus on individual course topics with ten separate courses, as opposed to the five combined courses in the On-Campus MBA track, was particularly appealing.

Which skills do you want to refine during the programme?

Firstly, gaining a comprehensive understanding of the theories and perspectives across various business elements, such as Human Resources, Corporate Finance, and Supply Chain Management, is essential to me. Furthermore, I am highly motivated to learn how to make businesses more sustainable, both environmentally and socially.

How do you think you will benefit from doing this MBA?

This MBA will benefit me in multiple ways. It will enhance my knowledge and personal development, making me more self-aware. Additionally, I will gain a broader business perspective, which could be valuable if I decide to transition to another industry. Moreover, it will equip me to make a greater impact on environmental and social sustainability by providing me with the skills and knowledge to implement sustainable practices within an organisation.

What is the most enjoyable part of the MaastrichtMBA programme so far?

Recently, I participated in an elective week on International Perspectives on Sustainable Innovation at the Stellenbosch Business School in South Africa, which was a true highlight. Additionally, I thoroughly enjoyed the Corporate Finance course, where I learned how to make strategic financial decisions to maximise a company’s value and ensure effective resource allocation.

What advice do you have for anyone considering an executive MBA at MaastrichtMBA?

First of all, I can highly recommend it! I suggest joining one of the MaastrichtMBA Click & Connect webinar sessions or participating in an MBA Class Experience. Additionally, connecting with an MBA student for a one-on-one discussion can be valuable to explore various aspects of the programme.
