Our students are the core of the MaastrichtMBA programme. Students with a broad diversity on nationality, age and even professional background. The insights and thoughts of our MBA students describe the true experience of MaastrichtMBA. This time we talked with our Panamanian student Mandeep Singht. She works as Head of Finance And Administration at Uniworld Air Cargo. Uniworld Air Cargo is an air cargo transportation alternative in Latin America, with full operational and logistical capacity to ensure excellent service, connecting to all continents. Mandeep joined our On-Campus MBA track in May 2025.
I decided to pursue an MBA to strengthen my leadership and management foundation, building on my technical and operational background in aviation. Over the years, I’ve built strong experience in finance, operations, and crisis management, but I recognised the need to broaden my strategic perspective and my ability to lead organisational transformation. I also want to have a greater impact on people.
I chose MaastrichtMBA because I wanted exposure to European ways of education and business, due to its strong reputation for combining academic rigor with real-world practice, its international outlook, and the fact that it was a flight away from home.
The On-Campus MBA track accommodates my work schedule, and I prefer the on-site model because I like the person-to-person experience.
I aim to refine my strategic decision-making, particularly by striking a balance between growth and profitability in family-owned companies. I also want to sharpen my people’s development skills, including coaching, mentoring, and building future leaders.
Professional and personal goals. I also expect to expand my network, increase my exposure, and have more work opportunities in the near future.
The most enjoyable part has been the interactive and reflective nature of the programme. I appreciate the mix of academic concepts with real-life case discussions, as well as the diversity of my peers, who bring perspectives from different industries and countries. This exchange of ideas has been energising, and the reflective assignments have allowed me to connect the theory directly to my own leadership challenges. Plus I get to travel around and visit new places.
Be ready for self reflection, to share your own experiences, be open minded and enjoy the new friends.
