MaastrichtMBA Unites: Fundraising Success in Honour of Bart Damoiseaux

Last July, we were deeply saddened by the loss of Bart Damoiseaux, a cherished member of our MaastrichtMBA community. Bart passed away at the age of 40 after bravely battling illness. To honour his memory and fulfil one of his final wishes, Bart’s family and friends embarked on a special endeavour—cycling Alpe d’Huez to raise funds for KiKa, a children’s cancer foundation that was close to his heart. During his time in the hospital, Bart witnessed children bravely fighting cancer, which inspired his desire to contribute to a world where no child has to face this disease. In support of this cause, MaastrichtMBA launched a fundraising campaign, offering exclusive MaastrichtMBA sports t-shirts to help raise money for KiKa.

Thanks to the overwhelming support of the MaastrichtMBA community, we are proud to announce that the campaign to raise funds for KiKa in Bart’s memory was a great success. Through the sales of exclusive MaastrichtMBA sports t-shirts, we were able to raise an impressive €2,650. Recently, we had the honour of presenting a cheque to Bart’s wife, Anna, and their daughters, Sophie and Eva, during a heartfelt gathering at the Tapijnkazerne campus.

The funds have been donated to KiKa, in line with Bart’s wish to contribute to the fight against childhood cancer. We are incredibly grateful for the generosity of everyone who participated in this campaign. Together, we have made a meaningful impact in support of a cause that was close to Bart’s heart, and we are humbled to be part of fulfilling this dream.
